On May 15, 16 and 17, ADDTEX project, led by AEI Tèxtils, organized a series of hackathons across Europe. A group of students from the universities participating in the project (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, University of Borås, PIN and TUS) designed and co-created solutions to the challenges proposed by companies members of the clusters participating in the project (AEI Tèxtils, IVGT, CLUTEX, CITEVE).
This activity, carried out in a hybrid format to promote the international cooperation, has allowed students to get to know the operation of companies more closely and to be able to propose feasible solutions to the challenges presented in the areas of sustainability, digitalization and smart textiles. The companies themselves have been part of the jury, evaluating the proposed ideas. The winning students will have the opportunity to further develop their ideas in a virtual stay at the company, which will take place in autumn. At the same time, the company will receive mentoring on current issues in the sector to improve its knowledge.
The member of AEI Tèxtils was the company LIASA, who participated in the hackathon looking for alternatives to improve the sustainability of its products. A group of students from the University of Borås have been in charge of providing innovative solutions.
The hackathons are included in the framework of the project’s actions that aim to create synergies between the clusters and their companies with textile students.
ADDTEX is an Erasmus+ project, co-funded by the European Union, whose key actions are transnational and result-oriented activities between higher education and vocational education and training, research, the public sector and the business sector, with the aim of generating innovation in teaching, learning and the co-creation of knowledge.
